Default WTB: 993 Cigarette Lighter

Hello,

The thread says it all. My new-to-me 96 coupe didn't have one. I'd like to fill in the hole in the dash with the OEM part. Please PM me if you have one.

Thanks!

I had the same issue when I bought my car. I think I found one but it was too expensive for just that small piece. I gave up finding a cheap alternative and just plugged it up with a cup holder that mounts on to where the lighter plugs in to.

I had the same when I bought my current 993 2 years ago, I enquired at Porsche and here in the UK the unit comes as a 2 part that you wire in at a cost of £40.

I set up a search on Ebay and saw a few secondhand units go through at around 1/2 that price...about a year later a brand new packaged lighter with the correct part number appeared with a single bid of £1 and a buy it now of £5........needless to say, I lifted the offer in a flash and it arrived a couple of days later.

I was lucky, hopefully you will find one too on Ebay if you have the patience,,,best of luck!

You might consider a Porsche rechargeable flashlight instead of the actual lighter.

My car didn't have one in the dash when I got it. I took the passenger seat out of my car after about 4 years of ownership (for other reasons) and there it was.

That would be awesome, let me know.

I guess I can actually look under the seat to make sure it is not misplaced. As for getting the flashlight, I was hoping to keep it stock, but the radio swap may kill that plan anyway.
