I'm thinking of having the seats in my 993 reupholstered, so I'm looking for references, experience, or recommendations regarding Autos International in Escondido. If you've had work done by them recently, I'd be very interested to hear about your experience.

Bobby,
I did a full interior in my 1987, 911 last year about this time. I got all the carpet, leather seat covers and vinyl pieces from AI. They were great to work with and the materials were perfect. I had my local apholstery shop put on all the leather and vinyl and they were very pleased with the product from AI too. I called them and asked them to send me a sample of the leather and they were glad to do so. The color of the final leather seats matched the sample they sent me perfectly.
Are you thinking of having them do the actual work on your seats?

Hi jhubs,
Yes, I'm thinking of taking the seats out and dropping them off at AI. This all started when I had the driver's seat pieced-in to repair a little wear on the driver's side bolster. The local shop got the color a bit off, and added some wrinkles I don't want. The passenger seat looks like it's never been sat in, but I think I'll just go ahead and do them both.

I bought a seat cover for my former 80 911SC from them and had it installed by Trim Line in Redondo Beach. The installer said it was one of the highest quality pieces he had seen. cut very well etc...
AI has an outstanding reputation.

I have been to the shop in Escondido and chatted with the owner I believe. They did some work for me in the past...top notch. The cars in their for interiors are very special. This is where I would go.
