Terry, do you know of a good rendezvous point in Blairsville where we can stop and pick up participants?

Last time, almost immediately after we went thru that roundabout in town, we encountered a detour of some sort. I can't quite remember the details.

Blairsville Rendevzous:

There is a shopping center where the Murphy Highway intersects Blue Ridge St....The anchor store there is a Bi-Lo Grocery.

The group coming from the Dahlonega area would come in on Blue Ridge St. and turn left into the shopping center.

Anyone coming from the Murphy area (Down 19 & 11 ) would cross Blue Ridge St and drive straight into the shopping center.

Anyone coming from the Young Harris area (Down 76 & 515 ) would turn left onto the Murphy Highway ( 19 & 11 ) go approximately 1/10th mile and drive stright into the shopping center.

Whoever gets there first should park close to Blue Ridge St so others arriving can see them.

Detours:

I was up there late this summer and ran into no detours, but haven't been there since late August.

I just saw the link to this thread on the 996 forum. I will be there too! Sounds like a great annual tradition.

There was mention of a possible meeting spot closer to Atlanta for us all drive north together. Is this going to happen? Where?

I'm not really familiar enough with Atlanta to know where to meet up. I am coming from Peachtree City. Name a time and place, I'm there.
