Default Help Rear Brake Line Replacement

I own an early model 95-993 and bought OEM rear brake lines for the car. Before I start disassebling, I compared the new brake hose with the one on the car and noticed a difference in the fitting on the bracket side. The hose on the left in the picture has rounded edges and the one on the car has a hex nut. Is this the right replacement or am I looking at the wrong end

Thanks.

Al,
I had similar issues with my 6/94 build '95. See here:

Brakes, again

In my case, I finally had a one-off set made.

Thanks Andreas for the help. I suspected this and called the dealer with my Vin #. According to their system, my car with last digit 839 is a 94 and should take a different rear brake line. What a pain in the ... The pictures you took is very helpful to compare the differences.

I will either go your way since a 94 brake line is very expensive, or look into changing the mounting bracket and brake lines to the 95 version.

I do have a another question. The threaded end (calliper end) is also different but the callipers for both the 94 and 95s are the same. Will this brake line fit my callipers?

Al,
The caliper end was never an issue with any of the brake line sets I purchased. I suspect that the replacement Porsche lines you received will at least fit on the caliper side... Could you post a pic looking at the back of your caliper where the line attaches?

Here is a picture Andreas. The threaded end piece of the replacement looks a lot longer than the originals in your photos.

Is there anyone willing to share a closeup of both ends of the rear brake line connection on their 95 or 96????

Thank you.

Al,
That should be fine. I think the caliper end of the hose has a pipe thread, so it will go in until it seats correctly. It's normal to have exposed threads. I can take a pic of mine later, but it will show my SS lines instead of factory.

Don't sweat it Andreas, you've been a great help I've ordered some clips from Porsche that is required on the female end of the brake line for the 95s to see if I can make it work. Will keep you posted.

Thanks again.
