Surj.Mike and Joe.
I do know some great drives that we can embark on right here in Danville. I do a lot rides on street bikes so I know some great loops. Lets put something together.

Surj,
I've only been in Danville for about a year (previously lived in Oakland), but one road that's got some curves is Highland Road off Camino Tassajara. It's not that long, kinda narrow, and parts of it are quite bumpy (need a firm hand on the wheel sometimes). One good thing is that the road is not busy and I have yet to see any law enforcement there. Here's a route starting from the Peet's in Dublin:

I know this route is only 15 miles, but I think it's a good place to start. Other suggestions, folks?

At some point we might want to consider an extended trip to the twisties north of Tahoe. Hwy 89 is a great road - one of my favorites. We should be able to easily do it in a day. Pavement quality in mostly excellent, not very crowded, and the scenery is excellent. Here are some photos:

parking lot @ Trader Joe's off of Railroad Ave?
I like the idea of a Danville area meet. How about at the parking lot at Trader Joe's in Danville, off of Railroad Ave? There is a Starbucks at the corner. This Sunday? Parking lot can get a bit crowded so another option is the parking lot by Lunardi's in the far corner near the old Railroad station (but there isn't a coffee shop directly adjecent)

Hey Mike,
I was thinking for the ease of it, Camino Tassajara continuing south through Livermore Mines rd south to Junction and then either east or west on Del Porto Canyon rd. West leads you to the top of Mt Hamilton and then down into San Jose, or East which leads out to Patterson on HYWY 5. Like I said we do lots of rides with the bike clubs and also my brother is an officer in both BAMA and Delta Miata clubs an he plans lots of their drives, he is quite good at it. So in saying that we should met and discuss some different routes for a drive. Just let me know.

Ok, Sounds like we will all meet on the 14th at Pete's Coffee on Rail Rd, in Danville. And after a meet and greet we will head out of town on drive. I have laid out a route through the the hills of Danville and then south through the Livermore hills which I laid out in the previous reply. I will follow up with a map soon.
Can't wait to meet all of you and this should be a lot of fun.

Great to talk to you over the phone. I've started a new thread so more folks can see it. Look forward to meeting you.
