I've been sick in bed all weekend. This was the first time I laughed (and it hurt my throat) since Friday...

Thank you, Mr. D.

Anyway, Andreas, you get the prize so far. I taped shut the heater vents under the heat exchangers, and damn if that didn't make about a 150-percent improvement in the quantity of heat coming through. The fan still won't come on anywhere close to high, but now that those vents are closed off, there is ample heat. At least around town -- yet to take it out on the highway, which I'll do soon.

Confirmed today that my heat seems to work at all speeds/rpms as well as temp and fan speed settings with the bypass tube.

You have a '95 -- which has a different system than the '96+ models...

I cringed when I saw that pic....yeah I know, you didn't know it was going to snow! PLEASE throw on some winter wheels!!! And if you want to restore those Speedlines, send them to Jim Dorociak. He will strip the peeling laquer, polish the lips, re-etch the "Speedline for Porsche" script, and re-coat it in some fancy coating that takes 8 days to cure. PM him and he will tell you what he uses. It's not clearcoat.

Hahaha! My friend Tim owns his own VW restoration business, and I was shocked to feel the heat working in his wife's '66! It was actually toasty!

Dear girls,
My Speedlines are just fine. The "lacquer" does not instantaneously peel when exposed to snow for a couple of hours. Before my road trip, their condition was 9.5/10. Today, right now, their condition is still 9.5/10. Thanks for your concern.

Hmmm...but it was just a few weeks ago, and it was very cold. Maybe he tried that farting trick that jaholmes mentioned while I was not looking.

Thankyou Noah, now I can rest. JK. Glad you got heat too. I just got back from a drive and the temp is just above freezing (clear skies and clear roads!), very happy to have heat. Nice to see people not afraid to use their 993.

I'm glad I live in Florida warmth too but seeing that kind of picture makes me miss driving in conditions like that! I love driving on snow!

+1 I lived in Vt and it's a beautiful place but I do not miss the weather or the radar traps around Randolph. In a state where the locals say "If you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes" you should have known you'd get hammered in late November. Locals know that snows go on in October and off in May. Flatlanders beware!

I wasn't - but for the benefit of others, if you're travelling in the Green Mountain State you have to be prepared for a snow in November regardless of what the weather wonks predict.
