Well, the weather forecast didn't mention it...but being from VT, I should have known that Tom Messner is often wrong.

Oh, dude, and not just summer tires -- Sumitomo's with 15,000 miles on them. They're almost slicks. The thing is, I've got mad skillz in the snow. I grew up in this stuff, so no worries there. The only thing that freaked me out was when an 18-wheeler went by at twice my speed and almost blew me clean off the road.

Huh, that's a good idea. I'll check it out. Although my understanding of these things is that the CCU needs to be fooled into thinking that the engine blower is stil there, so that it will adjust the doohickeys in the HVAC system to let in more heat.

Or something like that. But I know it involves doohickeys.

I was in a Farm and Fleet store the other day. They had a heater that you plugged into a cigarette lighter. That would probably solve your problem. Try some local auto parts stores, or places that have a decent auto parts department.

Noah,

Great pic.... I plan to have some cool snow pics soon with my 993. I'll be running the OEM heater set up for the winter even though I hate the look of it . I think there is a electric mod to trick the system so you can get decent heat with the RS bypass but I dont remember whats involved .... my 73 911 with SSI's puts out crazy hot heat .

As they say you can fart more hot air then a VW can put out.

It sounds like the right time for annual posting of "snowbound 993":

You can install aftermarket heating elements into your seats...a Rennlister did this a number of hears back and posted links to his write-up and the kit he used.

I would think that would be a deadly mistake. First, the dogs smear you with their wet noses, then they lick your face, it freezes, and you die from hypothermia.

Let us know if you figure it out, my blower isn't working at this point and it was 23 degrees yesterday.
