Anyone ever use Discounttires.com ?

Be careful there. The one that advertises in Car & Driver/Road & Track is Discount Tire (which is also America's Tire). Their web site is tires.com. I've used America's Tires since they will match/beat Tirerack prices and there were local stores nearby when I lived in the Bay Area.
I don't know anything about Discounttires.com, but it isn't affiliated with Tires.com.

Onlinetires.com has really great prices and will call if you're in SoCal.
Tirerack is the overall best. A class act and site sponsor with great research tools. Reminds me of Crutchfield, but for your car.

I am looking at 315 Ps2 and they are about $75 cheaper per tire at Discounttires.com vs. discounttiredirect.com
I found them via google 'shopping', but have no info on their reputation

I've been buying from Tires.com for at least 6-7 years and like them better than Tirerack, who I've used for the past 12+ years. Essentially i just buy race tires from the Rack now as Tires.com doesn't carry them.
Not sure who Discountires.com is, but as mentioned above, they are not tires.com

Hmmm... they appear to have very good prices on Kunho V710s. About 20% below TireRack in my size. Not bad at all.
However, my street tires, Falken Azenis, are cheaper at tires.com and they have free shipping on top of it.
So I would look at the specific tire and compare them among Tires.com, Discounttires.com, TireRack, possibly onlinetires.com and make a decision.

That's a really good way to describe them. I have bought a number of tires from The Rack and have been very happy with the good service and quick shipping, even though I have yet to find a rep who I have been 100% happy with in terms of his or her product knowledge (specifically pertaining to track tires such as recommended initial pressures, tire temps, etc.) I have tried Damon once but only to order Hoosier R6's, a tire that I know well enough.

Thanks, Bob. I did finally try that with BFG when I first used the R1's two years ago. The answers I got were pretty good. Additionally, when I ordered from Tire Rack, I was told that "it's always best to use a pyrometer to measure tread temps", a response that is patently obvious but did not answer my question about where to start out with recommended tire temps.

Never used/heard of Discounttires.com
I use a local place called Burt Brothers place for my SUV tires--free rotation and balance for life. Top notch place. They match prices and are 3 minutes from my house.
My stash of SO3 Pole Positions came from Tirerack.com

At the risk of moving this thread off original topic, it's worth mentioning how great Tire Rack is for customer service.
I got two rears from them about nine months ago and was sure one of them was out of round. With just a phone call they emailed me a label to send the tire back FedEx(no cost to me) and shipped out a replacement tire the same day. No questions asked.
Turns out I had a minor blip in the rim which may have been the culprit after all that trouble....
