WOW! Look at the mess someone left you in the garage.
Seriously, glad to hear you are okay. We have been watching smoke from just down the toll way past Foothill Ranch. Crazy weekend.

Have been listening to our radio news. The wildfires sound terrible - Very scary situation to be in. We had a mountain fire that came to within about 20 feet of our house 3 years ago. Family evacuated,I just stayed, using the garden hose on the house and myself.
Very pleased to hear that your family and your house have come through OK.
My sympathy to those less fortunate.

I had a question since you actually live there and it seems the local news is doing a bad job if you listen to what they say. Is the pump station, that burnt down, that supplies the fire hydrants the same one that supplies drinking water to you? I kept hearing that and couldn't believe there is no water tank on these new subdivisions. I also didn't understand then where the garden hoses people were using to water down their yards got water from. Please any comments, because I really think the news did a terrible job talking about these fires, especially the coverage in Yorba Linda.

Default Fires

As someone who has the ...what we call in Oz..." bush fire" choppers going overhead earlier this week as the hotter part of summer approaches ...feel for you guys ..

In the northern part of Sydney we are surrounded by National park ...just take care of your family ...cars and other possessions can be replaced ...

The smell of smoke ..when the fires move or burn out ...on your clothes is a reminder ...I wish you rain

Chris,
Glad to hear you and your family are ok. Flew into Carlsbad yesterday afternoon and saw some frightening live video from YL on CNN while waiting at the airport Sunday morning. Immediately thought of you.

Best of luck.

Chris, glad you are okay!!! Lots of us were pretty worried about you! I went over to my parents' place in YL last night. It was surreal. The sky was orange and I could barely breathe. They had been evacuated for a while, but were able to return late saturday night. The really amazing thing is that even with all the news, it was impossible to tell where the fires were due to the poor visibility from the smoke. It was pretty scary situation.

Chris,

Glad to hear that everything was ok, I was very worried when I saw the smoke coming over from teh Yorba Linda area. And then I couldn't believe you were stuck on the 91 for 2 hours.

Here are the smoke I saw right outside of my house on Saturday
