Ahhh, there are several lines through the corkscrew, you actually have a straighter line through the exit and down the hill. I have a few hundred laps on sportbikes at Laguna and I prefer squaring off the entry (left turn), then a very late apex of the exit (right turn) which gives me a straight line down to turn 9. It's a trade-off, you can carry more entry speed into the initial left hander, which puts you over on the curbing of the right hander, leaving you a longer right turn on the exit. Or carry a little less speed at the top, square off the left hander and straighten out the exit, so you can be on the gas earlier. You can see I am much closer to the center of the track and will clip the apex of the right turn very late, on pretty much a straight line down the hill. I just feel that is my quickest way through there. Bottom line, lots of different lines through there, I have been through the dirt a few times when I got it wrong
