Question Battery Info Needed

Embarrassed to bring this topic up again, (already used search) but still somewhat confused.

My Optima battery (Red Top 75/35) died and I want to replace it with either Optima (Red Top / Yellow Top) or Odyssey 1200. If memory serves the existing Red top 75/35 had the terminals oriented opposite of the original Porsche battery. The existing Optima had the positive terminal positioned on the left when facing the battery with the terminals closest to you. Can someone please clarify what terminal post orientation and model I should purchase? A recommended bargain web site source would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

After having done some research here, I went with the Odyssey 925 (I think that's the model number).

Odyssey 925 is my street car with AC and HiFi. No problems at all. Super lightweight! Battery and kit from Rennline.

I have an Optima in my Jeep which as also served me nicely.

there are 3 925 odyssey model numbers at rennline. Whats the difference? I need a new battery and am running a 4 channel amp as well. With this battery do I need anything else? What are the battery mount kits listed on the site for?

Call Rennline and they will get you sorted. They know what you need. The bracket kit is expensive and you could make one, but thiers looks very nice.

+1 for Rennline (no affil).

Maybe a stupid question, but does anyone know if the OEM Porsche battery maintainer that plugs into the cigarette lighter will work with the Odyssey 925 (Rennline setup, mount etc)?

I really dislike the Optima batteries.

Why not get the Bosch OEM battery? I got one inexpensively from Pep Boys.

I had a Odyssey 925 in my 96 Targa but had wierd problems with it going dead after sitting a couple of days and even after driving the car earlier the same day. I went back to traditional battery from Interstate. No more problems!

925T . The T means that you just get the automotive battery terminals that screw into the top...
