Current market pricing for C2S & C4S?
 

Been hanging out here for the past couple of months trying to research my next toy, and the winner will be one of the following; a 993 C2S, 993 C4S, 993 TT, or a 1994 964 (965) Turbo 3.6.

I have a pretty good feel for the 964 (965) Turbo 3.6 pricing and I have posted for help on 993 Turbo forum with regard to its current pricing, so all that's left is some help with current C2S and C4S pricing. If you guys could help me out I would appreciate it.

It goes without saying that I will have a PPI performed regardless of model, condition, mileage, history, etc.

Administrators feel free to merge the posts if need be just trying to get as much input as possible.

I think a good first step in figuring this out is to determine the "top of the market", which IMO (for C2S) is this:

Obviously other stuff out there at lower prices but those are two premium, top of themarket type, bench markes (and of course, the Willhoit car is just an asking price, not an actual sale price).

$35K low- $70K high +/- $5K

96 High mileage on the low-end
98 C2S or turbo w/ less than 20K miles on the hight-end
(excluding turbo S)

Lots of recent topics on this ..suggest a search and look in the classifieds

color combo, mileage and (to a small amount) location would be the biggest factors on $$$.

Seems to be some good deals out there.

I thought I could have gotten more but went ahead and sold it a fellow rennlister and all around good guy. Plus he lives close and I hope to buy it back someday.... if he doesn't ruin it by changing things :nono: ;)

Thanks guys, that was much faster than I expected. I should have explained that I have done plenty of searching but in both the turbo and the normal 993 forums but I just couldn't get a good feel for the "market pricing" at the time.

Clearly the Willhoit cars are high end and there are some other private sellers that seem to be trying to get similar money. The only other bench mark I have is Truspeed which seems to have a decent reputation. If those are good representations than I have some data to work with.

I think pricing is changing. The dollar isn't as weak as it was when some cars were going to Europe.

I think a nice C4S should be low $40s by private party (I got my 96 for $42k 5 months ago), and a C2S a bit higher. Retail is much higher for both, so keep an eye out here.

I agree with Matt. I purchased mine near the same time as he did and paid a tiny bit less for a 96 C4S with 43K. Certain options can affect the pricing here. Its hard to place a current value with so many variables, condition,options,color,location,model year ect.

C2S 100K in very good condition for 33K

96' C4S in good shape, 100k miles, with some nice extras for 25k.

Is that yours? Or are you saying you saw one for that much?

I think one of the best ways to get a feel for the market is to study the classifieds...Rennlist, Panorama, Excellence, Autotrader, etc. Also, as I've said before, there seems to be a big price premium for certain color combinations, and obviously condition and mileage.

I missed the chance to buy this one but it sold for the 25k range and it had some nice extra's with the car, such as 2 sets of wheels, etc.

Makes perfect sense and sound advice. I have been watching the classifieds for Rennlist and Autotrader, as well as watching ebay, but failed to look at Panorama and Excellence.

The only problem I see with watching classifieds, and I have yet to figure out good solution, is that you never really know what the sale price ended up being.

People should update the thread if they bought a car recently because the info is several months old and if updated could be really usedful to both buyers and sellers.
