How about you sell me your '77 Bronco?

Selling a car, buying a car...they both suck.

The deal turned out well after my little rant and the wife is now happy once again. The salesman had quoted the wrong price (as verified by Mazda website pricing) causing the turmoil. Since they low balled me on the trade I e-mailed them a low offer along with all of the options in black and white and ended up getting the car for about $1000 under MSRP which I think is as good as it gets on a relatively inexpensive car. Apparently the sales manager doesn't prefer this method of negotiating and did not seem pleased so I must have done okay. Also, I passed on the $2000 in fabric guard, undercoating, etc and $1500 in extra warranty. Nobody wants to pay more than they have to whether it's a $100 purchase or a $100,000.
