Default FS:993 new rear rotors and pads, narrow body

I have an extra set of rear rotors and pads that fits any NB '95-'98. These are Zimmerman cross-drilled, and Mintex "red box" pads. I'm thinking $200 plus shipping is a good deal for anyone who is due for a new set. I can ship these UPS or USPS Priority from area code 19087, the weight should be a shade over 30 pounds. Please PM me or email thomasfmontgomery@hotmail.com

Tom, those pads (the 944 Mintex ones) don't work for 993s. The pad height is too short leaving 1/4" or so of lip on the rotor. You should send them back to whoever sold them to you for a refund. I got fooled myself with those, since Pelican and others list them as compatible.

Here's a pic (OE left, Mintex right):

Rallyjon,
A mystery! I laid the pads down on the rotor, they seemed to cover pretty well, just inside the working edge by maybe a 1/16th. So I'm thinking, "this can't be right, maybe I have the wrong rotor too, even though I'm sure they're from a different source." I measured the rotors on my car using a piece of tape to make an exact template; the rotors are correct and spec out the same. Looks like the pads fit the rotors, possibly a 1/32 to 1/16 out of spec, but it seems the pads shouldn't cut right to the edge of the rotor anyway ...my guess is that these are compatible, maybe just not to within a 1/32 of the rotor edge.

Anyway, to make a short story long, I was throwing in the pads anyway as they're maybe $25 new, the savings is on the rotors.

Best, Tom
