Default Anyone in Carlsbad, CA that can do a quick look/see on a 993?

I'm exploring my options on this listing. Does anyone live in Carlsbad that can extend themselves to check this car out to see if it is even worth doing a PPI?

or,

Does anyone know of a good Porsche mechanic in the area that can do a PPI??

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=436837

Thank you in advance!

yes, I can help with both. Call Ryan Calvert (Porsche Tech), he will do a PPI at his shop or on the fly. Please tell him I referred you. I might even tag along if he's going to look at the car for you.

Thanks, Jordan. I'm trying to contact the seller to see what the conditions are and whether the seller is receptive to a PPI and trying to negotiate also.

$24,000 for a 77,000 mile '96 993 is not a bad price.

The seller is looking at a mid '80s carrera today at the same dealership that sold him the 993 several years back. If he likes it, he'll turn in the 993 at which point the car is off the market....They are offering him a 911 targa +$6k.

Thanks for the offer, I'll take you up on it if the Seller decides otherwise. Right now, I'm just sitting and waiting to see he bites on the dealer's offer.

Yes, not bad, but he knows that there are some issues that need to fixed in order for the car to be in satisfactory condition. One of which is the crack in the windshield, the valve cover gaskets, and other things.

Somehow it gives me the feeling that the car, while it ran okay, was neglected in more ways than one.....

Even with the disclosed issues, I'd say it's a decent deal. I would be surprised if you got it for much less than $24,000. I wonder what everyone else thinks of the pricing?

I agree, the price is very good. I've been searching the database listings for weeks and didn't find too many 993 for less than $25k. If there are any, they are either tip or show extensive wear on high mileage with little to no maintenance/records or are at a shady secondary dealer type operation that doesn't have records....
