Unhappy Help - limp home mode then no start

After getting my car inspected today ('97 993 w/ ~86K miles), during which it was idling for 10-15 minutes, here is what happened 2 blocks from my house:

- just as I was turning onto a side street the revs dropped on the car (around idle speed)
- after making the turn and going approx. 50 ft. the engine stopped
- attempted to start the car; engine turns over but will not fire
- left the car, walked home and will make another attempt shortly

I was checking the oil temp during the inspection but did not see it get above 9:00.

Does this sound like a DME relay problem or should I also be checking for other issues? I do have a new spare DME to try.

I did use search but didn't come up with a hit that covered the idle drop and no start.

Don't know about idle drop but if you have a spare DME try it. I had a DME problem a few weeks ago. Good luck!

Swapped out the DME relay and the car started; thanks for the quick response. Great advice to carry a spare.
