Default Quick Q: how much more noise w/o eng pad?

I need opinions/feedback, all. For those of you who have removed your engine sound-deadening pad, how much of an increase in noise did you perceive inside the cabin? For reference, mine is a daily driver with stock exhaust, and I actually like hearing the radio (which is OEM hifi and a bit wimpy as is).

Engine is out and the sound mat is falling apart, so I can either leave it in, dilapidated as it is, or yank out altogether. But I don't want undue increase in noise as I DO drive daily and need to hear the tunes to help keep me sane. Feedback appreciated ...thanks!

Anyone done this ...anyone?? I did it on my SC but also gutted the interior, and it has a more aggressive exhaust, so that's not a fair comparison. Any feedback would be great as the engine has gotta go back in tomorrow. Thanks, all!

The sound pad also prevents engine heat from getting into the cabin. If you want sound, I once used a water heater tank insulation with foil backing to allow sounds while blocking heat. If you want more wound w/o touching the pad, then remove the interior sound insulation. Here is an easy thing to do, take out your rear parcel shelf and take out the insulation there. That would let in some glorious sound.
