there is no need to buy anything...if you can open your car door under a street light or a full moon at just the right angle, the door sill will be illuminated.

I've never seen or heard of a 911 with illuminated door sills. Why would this be necessary?

You gotta be kidding me! Illuminated door sills? It's not like an SUV that you have to step up into the car. Maybe I need illuminated seats so I can see where to plop my butt when I sit down.

Isn't the "dome" light on the side so it helps illuminate the door area when you get in? What more could you need?

I was gonna suggest the Honda list on fleabay-but that would be too sarcastic so I won't. Then it is posted that Porsche offers them as an option on the 997 They really do have a new breed of buyer.

Why not just paint the stock sills with glow-in-the-dark paint?

I think what he means is door sills that have the "Carrera" script illuminated, which IMO would look cool. Then again maybe it's the inner Asian in me that's crying out to rice out a Porsche. I think the Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen had ones that glowed blue.

If you had a really good stereo installer like I do, who can do ANYTHING with plastic (mine is one of the top 10 in the country and has the plaque to prove it), you have the guy could graft the illuminated emblem into the existing one. It's a lot of work, but it could work.

Mr. Terry Adams' 997tt has illuminated door sills. Looks very nice.

My Lexus RX330 has illuminated door sills as well, and I do like them a lot.

Could not imagine it on a 993 though. I'm just old school.

These guys offer aftermarket versions for the M5. I'm not sure about Porsches but you could give them a call. I bet they'll develop anything for a price. Just went back and read the link. They will customize one for you.
