Default Performance Friction 97

Any downside, (other stopping noise) when using PF-97's on the street?

Rather not switch pads between track and street.

The noise will get to you, really. Every stop, SQUEEEEAAAALLL. I hated it just driving home from the track. But for some reason, the same compound 97s on my SC Trackmeister isn't nearly as bad. Go figure

Other than that, perhaps they are harder on rotors than OEMs. It's an easy swap on 993 calipers, perhaps the easiest I have ever performed among the many cars I've had my hands on over the years ...just do it. You get really good/fast at it, trust me

Thats due to differences in pad sizes,...

Bigger pads vibrate easier than small pads with less mass and brake squeal is simply a vibration of the pads in the caliper frames.

So what you're saying, Steve, is size does matter. Hmmm. Good to have an expert opinion.
