Hard to say without knowing whats behind the pipes for muffs. You should be able to easily track anywhere with either as long as you aren't going through cups, then you'll be pushing 102 db+.. My cat pipes to fangs (no muffs at all) runs 104dbs. So any muff is better than none, and everything you do reduces dbs. If you run stock muffs, you'll have no issues with either pipe. Hope that helps.......
Another option if straight pipes are too loud and mufflers are too quiet is to run a straight pipe with CC inserts (2 or 3 discs). This would effectively be the same as Supercups but at a much lower cost, plus you could have the option of running factory big oval tips (my cab has Supercups and I'm not a fan of the integrated tips...looks too small and out of place IMHO).
Chris - This should be fairly easy to fab right? Shouldn't be much more complicated than a straight pipe...it's just a muffler bypass that lets you run factory tips and has the option to use a CC insert. (and yes, please let me know if ceramic coating will be an option for the TT sport cats!)
well a strait pipe (if I'm following you Dave) is essentially a cup muff, because to do anything else would probably be to much hanging off the end of the pipes without support. My fangs (directly off the cat) is LOUD. I suppose you could fab something to accept inserts (like the old supertrap silencers). We're kind of going off on tangents.
I'm still in the process of trying to even get my hands on some cats, and working on a future "plan B" alternative so we may have to be satisfied with my current offerings at best One day I'll be capable of running with the big dogs (Fabspeed etc...)
