Have had mine for 6 years. Just spent $300.00 on a full service by Rolex, they even polished the watch and it came back looking brand new. I do not see myself wearing any other watch, ever.

I'm presenting this Saturday at the graduation ceremony of the Rolex watchmaking school in the US, but I can't wear my blue two tone Sub since I'll be wearing a suit.

10 years at the bench, the last five traveling the world doing product training for sales professionals about timepieces and jewelry. A little product development work and client dinners on occasion as well. I'm also presenting at the www.nghayekwatchmakingschool.org graduation. Just little speeches to congratulate the students and their choice of career, and what opportunities will be offered to them. The Hayek school also is free.

Nice!! I want to get a new watch for my suits to keep my Breitling company as well. Not sure if I am a Rolex kind of guy though. I like that most people have no idea what a Breitling is. You get any compliments on it yet?

As my generation reaches middle age, I think high end watch buying will increase as we grew up without cell phones, and tended to wear watches, and now are approaching higher income brackets, but I do notice most of my son's friends do NOT wear watches, and rely on their phones for time.
just curious....

Virtually every luxury watch brand has shown high single/low double digit increases yearly in the timeframe you referenced. You're absolutely right about kids, but when they get jobs and start to make money they'll start to buy expensive watches.

Rolex is sneaky with their wording-'superlative chronometer, offically certified'.
It's a pass fail test to earn the COSC certificate, they don't rate them A, B, C, D. Their watches are not more superlative than anyone else's, al least as far as chronometry. Great pieces, though.
