Okay, I really don't want to do it, but I need a bra for a road trip coming up (1 next weekend). In addition, they have decided to strip the major highway I commute on everyday for re-paving. As a result my 993 has been sitting to avoid getting peppered with gravel every morning.
Anybody have an unused or rarely used bra with all the hardware for sale?
I need to find it in the garage. Its a 2 piece with 2 mirror covers too. Hardly used maybe 2 times at most. I remember paying $300 for it. Make me an offer + shipping.
I've got an OEM one I bought for my '95 cab.... only used the hood part for a few days... How's $70 plus shipping? PM me with your particulars if you want it....
I don't have one for sale (coz it's on my own car!)... ...but having used a COLGAN CUSTOM (two piece) vinyl bra for the last 12+ months -- I can attest that it WILL save the front from damage. In particular, the 'hood part' goes so far up the hood that it practically keeps the first 1/2 of you paintwork protected!
TIPS:
1. Clean then put a good wallop of (carnauba) wax on the front of your car at least 24 hours before you anticipate putting the bra on.
2. Put the bra pieces out in the sun (to warm up) before assembly. They go on the car much better when warm.
3. The bottom part (until you are used to it) will, initially, require a 'helper'. In particular the *placement* of the rectangular velcro parts (on the inside of the trunk behind the headlights) may require a 'dry run' before you peel off the backing and REALLY stick them there.
4. Start by *first* putting the lic. plate through its opening. (you'll thank me later)
5. When attaching the 'lower sides' (in front of the front wheels) -- *don't* do 'one side' fully -- rather 'clip' one side first, then walk around and bend the corresponding 'clip' -- then bend another clip - then walk around and bend the corresponding clip, etc. etc. - and work your way down to the lowest clip inside the front wheelwell. In this way the bumper/lower cover will be *tight* and *even* over the headlights, headlight washers, lic. plate etc. etc.
6. Finally, get down on your knees and find the little elastic clip that is (probably dangling) mid-center beneath the lic. plate and attach it to that little hole in the bottom of the bumper at the very underside of the car. (you may need a flash-light).
When you are happy with your install -- get some vinyl polish (e.g. mothers) and give it a good going over so that it too, like your paintwork is 'shiny'. (It also helps to limit UV deterioration).
Yes, I will be at Arrwin's drive. I went on the last one and had a complete blast. This group REALLY means "spirited" when they say "spirited". I hope to have my new M033 + shocks and my new LPMM Stage II installed in time for the race, opps, drive.
