Default Is anyone here using a fiberglass hood?

As disclosed in a recent thread, about a month ago a kindly neighbor decided to sit on the hood of my car during a barbeque, caving it in. So I thought, why not replace it with a fiberglass hood? (I love the 993, but it truly is a heavy fat pig.) It just so happened that a friend nearby had a nice one for sale. The only difference between a 993 hood and a 1974-1994 911 hood is that the 993 piece needs about a half-inch trimmed from the leading edge of the hood.

It also needs, as I discovered this weekend, a different hood latch. The studs on the glass hood are about 4" apart, whereas the 993 hood latch uses studs that are about 3" apart.

Does anyone have experience with this? Do I need to just use a '74-'89 latch?
