Hi,
This is rather out of the blue, but I searched the Internet for images of a Mercedes 220SE to show a friend the kind of Mercedes my dad owned in the 1960s. To my absolute amazement, I came upon a photo of one that you posted in 2005. I think it was the actual car my dad owned! I showed the picture to my parents and they recognized it immediately. We lived between Salinas and Monterey from the 1950s thru the 1980s. My dad was the original owner. He's now 91, and it was wonderful to share the picture with him and my mom.
Even though I was just a young girl when my dad owned it, I knew it was a special car. I remember the red leather upholstery and the rosewood dashboard (I think it was rosewood anyway), and most of all, the beautiful lines of the cream body. No other car in my life has ever measured up to that one.
It's so nice to see that you cared for it and maintained it in such beautiful condition. Thank you so much!
