De-natured alcohol.

Infact, a great window cleaning solution is 1 part de-natured alcohol to 2 parts distilled water in a spray bottle. White 100% terry cloth towels. Spray one towel, buff dry with a seperate towel. I use this in my Concours.

Goo gone works really well, as does goof off, just be careful not to get it on the dash, etc.

goof-off is also good.
Lift-off is even better to get schmeg off of the paint when removing old clear stone guards.
These are both safe on paint/clearcoat but be very careful around plastics.

Use a razor blade to get the bulk of it off. Then, use Goof Off or a bug and tar remover.

I like goof off. It also works extremely well on the insides of Porsche wheels. Removes cosmoline remnants and all tar and road films. Wheels look like new.

3M Adhesive Cleaner followed by a good glass cleaner. Be careful with the 3M around certain plastics.

Opps (yes that's the name): It is better and cheaper than all the others and works great (including removing stone guards). You can get it at Pep Boys.

just use some vegetable oil from the cupboard and some old rags, this will clean up the sticky mess. If you get some on the dash, just wipe it up. If you get some on your spouse ... you can finish the window project later:-)

brake cleaner. spray it on a towel first, and don't get it anywhere near plastic or vinyl leather.

It works way better than goof off and such.
