Just wanted to say thanks to those that post a DIY for 6.5" components upgrade. The install went good, with a small hiccup on the passenger side, but was soon fixed. The speakers sound great, and I love the headunit, which is an Alpine IDA-X001. I installed Focal 165VR speakers, and they are very nice.

Also, I drilled the airbox this weekend, and I must say, the sound is amazing. Now I know what all you guys have been talking about. Very pleased with the outcome.

Andy, I need new front door speakers. Did the 6.5" speakers fit into the existing hole?

i fitment is very tight, so I noticed out a little where the screw holes are at. no problems at all.

can you post pics from the installation. Do you have the Sound Package openings in the car or the regular ones. Where did you buy the Focals? Thanks.

i can probably post up pictures tonight. i didn't take pictures as I was doing the entire install, but I can take pictures showing what it looks like.

I didn't keep the stock look.

Bought the speakers from a FOCAL dealer around me, though I have seen numerous sets selling on eBay. Since I didn't think I was going to go with an AMP for the speakers, the support rep from Focal recommend the Focal 165VR and so far, I could be happier.
