Default Fun Runs are getting expensive

I went for my second Porsche Club Breakfast Run. It was a very nice 200 km spirited run with mainly Boxsters. Caymans and a C4S and a GT3. There was only one other air-cooled car. I have definitely learned that our cars like to be run hard. The only downside was $47 worth of premium!

I hear ya, but for comparison, a day at Disneyland/California Adventure is like $90, movies are $10, not to mention popcorn and a drink. A day lift at Mammoth is what, $75 or something like that? so, $47 for a day of fun is "relatively" inexpensive.

Gas in Europe was around $8/gal on my recent fun run there. Filled up a 964 and bought water for ~$170 once. And it was worth it!

Should have skipped the water.

a 200km fun run in my 993 is $80 fuel over here... but the run is still fun.

No debating the fun aspect...and the fuel cost is well worth it. It's just getting more expensive like everything else these days.

We just did a 250 run around Marin and Sonoma counties. Went through a tank of 1/2 100 octane and 1/2 91, probably a $100 tank. Spent $20 at the organic bakery and $40 for lunch.

Fun with other P-car enthusiats - priceless!

So long as no speeding tickets are involved, I'd say fun runs are cheap entertainment!

Don't feel bad. I spent alot more than that on a date on sat night and I can guarantee YOU had more fun for the money. I'll let you know if I feel the same way after I take her out on date #2, but by then I'll have spent four times what your fun run cost!

Hal, Terry,

Where are the pics from the fun run this last Sat? Please post some. I really wanted to attend, but couldn't.

I'm in the UK right now and it cost me 110.00 Pounds Sterling in fuel to drive from London to Goodwood yesterday. That's 220.00 USD. Managed to get 20 MPG in a MBZ S500. Well worth it though. I'll post a link to the pictures later.

I didn't close the deal on my 993 on the first date either although I must admit I did get to go on a "test drive" right away on day one! Now I'm in love and the relationship has lasted almost four years!

I'm sure I'll find out how she handles soon enough. Funny, she saw the 993 and said I don't seem like a "Porsche kind of guy"....not sure if that was a complement or an insult?
