What do you guys think is a fair price for A8 seats without sliders? Probably what I would call very good condition (better than good, not quite excellent). And for those who have them, did you paint the backs? What did you put over the A8 logo? A Porsche crest? Photos are welcome!
Also, what sliders will get me the lowest that will work with those seats?
Thanks much!

I can't comment on the cost but my research tells me that the recaro sliders and Brey Krause brackets will provide the lowest installation. I'm just looking into this but that's what I've found so far.
All of the A8's I've seen (which is not too many) the A8 logo was on the seats. Porsche crest idea is interesting.....
I'd paint the seat backs to match that beautiful color of your car.

If you have a matching set and they have the original black matte backs I personally wouldn't paint them only because there probably aren't any left anywhere that haven't been painted. I painted mine, but one was pretty hammered and already painted. It killed me to paint the other one, which was mint.
The logo is just stuck on. You can carefully peel it up and reapply it once the backs are painted. DON'T paint over it.
I have recaro height adjustable sliders, but to get those to allow the seat to sit low, you actually have to cut them down a little bit. They won't mount in the lowest holes because they will hit the floor pan before they allow you to lower them to the fully lowest setting.
Here's some before and after pics for you...

OK, so Chuck was asking how far back the A8's could go, so here are some pics. I hope they can help the guys who have questions about legroom. This is as far back as I can get the seats. Keep in mind that it's not the sliders, brackets or anything else in my car that is keeping them from moving back any farther. It is the confines of the car's interior that is keeping the seat from moving back any farther. FWIW, I have Wedge Engineering brackets and Recaro height adjustable sliders.

Look at the reclining **** in this pic. It is basically a hair away from hitting the carpeted wheel well (or whatever that thing is). And if that doesn't hit, then the shoulder "wing" will if pushed back any farther. The seatbacks are fairly upright (I don't sit too gangsta in my car).

Here's about as good of an idea as I can give you of the actual legroom. Maybe you can get an idea if you look at the seat in relation to the shifter or the thingy that holds the floormat down???

Mike,
Just what I was looking for. Thanks much,
chuck
EDIT: Took laptop out to car and compared your last pic to where the front edge of my drivers sport seat sits in relation to the shifter. If there's any difference, it ain't much. That's good news. My drivers seat was all the way back.
Appreciate it very much Mike.
