FS: 1996 Carrera 4, polar silver / black, 47K miles
SOLD! To Stuart in California
1996 Carrera 4 for sale.
Polar silver, black interior, 47K miles, clear carfax.
After searching many months, I found the car last year and purchased it from Pepe Porsche, authorized Porsche dealer in White Plains, NY, on 1/31/07 for $39,500. Car had 41,155 miles.
As I'm sure you know, the narrow-body C4's are among the rarest 993's. And of the few silver ones I found, most have gray or blue (!) interiors! It was very hard to find this exact configuration.
The car has heated seats, rear wiper, power seats, partial leather, Polar silver exterior, black interior. I have most of the service records from the car's history.
Over the last year, I've been updating the car to get it exactly the way I wanted it.
Added European taillights 2/26/07, cost zero (traded with European owner).
Purchased Michelin PS2 tires, 225/45-17 F, 255/40-17R, 3/12/07, cost $822.
Purchased ROW (European OEM) M030 factory sport springs and sway bars, and Bilstein HD shocks, 3/22/07, cost $1867.
Had original 17" wheels refinished 4/17/07, cost $400.
Had race shop install new suspension, corner-weight alignment, mount tires, 4/27/07, cost $1194.
Installed Optima battery 7/21/07, $160.
Swapped stock mufflers for modified LPMM mufflers 3/24/08, $250.
Did 30K mile service 4/4/08 at Beechmont Porsche. (This service had been done at 30K miles, but I thought it made sense to do the extensive service again, since the car has been driven so little over the years.) Cost $1945. Car had 45,277 miles.
Total invested $46,138.
Car today has 46,843 miles.
You can see some photos I took last year here:

Click on a photo to see it slightly larger, then click the small magnifying glass icon above that photo to see large size.
As you can see, I wasn't planning to sell the car! But I had a Ford GT briefly and sold it, and I feel myself being pulled back into another one.
Some people prefer the wider body C4S, but I prefer a more subtle look, and searched many months for this car.
I am asking $41,500. NEW ASKING PRICE $39,500. PM me or email centerpunch at fuse.net

Oh, I haven't actually listed it anywhere but here, and I think this is like preaching to the choir, so I'm not at all surprised it hasn't sold yet.
I'm going to stick it on cars.com or ebay in the next few days.
