Default Cab top issues...

A beautiful day today and I wanted to enjoy the sun with the girl. Much to my dismay the cab top does not want to retract. It was working fine last week! The motor doesn't make a sound at all so I checked the fuse (#13) and it seems fine. Any suggestions?

Do the latches unlatch and it just won't go back or it doesn't even unlatch?

Doesn't unlatch. Looks like there is no power at all.

It could be one of two things e brake sensor switch or the main switch . Both are easy fix .

OK, I had my short shifter installed a few days ago. Could this be the culprit. Are there any diy fixes for either issues you just pointed out?

Probably the parking break indicator contact. If the light on the console doesn't come on with the hand break, that is the problem. If so, I know everything about this issue so let me know if you need help resolving it.

BINGO! I just double checked. The parking light does not light up when it's engaged.

PM replied to. I can fix this thing in about 16 minutes if the plastic holding the conductor clip is not damaged.

Cheers,

Sounds like your problem is the parking brake switch but in the future you also have the Cab Top Controller that's under the driver's side dash. It's tucked up under another unit that you have to remove first and hard to see.

On mine, it had cold solder joints that had been repaired previously, I repaired it once myself but then it failed and was too far gone for me to repair so I ordered a new one from Sunset. Haven't had any problems since.

BTW, I converted my top to manual a week after I got the car. The Cab Top Controller still controls the front latches.
