Honda Accord has almost same HP as Porsche.

Did that. Missed the look and feel of the 993 too much and found one with some boost. WOW! And I was considering selling the sc. Not going to happen unless I do something really silly.

I think the point is, get out there and drive and enjoy the cars. In terms of price and performance they are becoming more commonplace everyday.
I feel sorry for those who let there cars sit because it is a "one owner, low mile, eat off the engine" garage queen. FYI - I've bought them before and beat the living snot out of it. My heirs couldn't care less, they want either a Mustang or a Mini.
The resale price difference for a 911 with 60,000 miles Vs. 30,000 is very little. However, the enjoyment from driving an additional 30K miles is priceless. Life is short.

I think the point is that even everyday cars have advanced quite a bit in 10 years. Bravo Honda for making a utilitarian car so capable. I think in this scenario everybody wins. Why all the hate here?

There are people out there saying that the GT3RS is under powered, but they still cant drive a car with 200hp to its limit.
993 is a lot of car, not fast by modern standards, but still more car than most people know how to use.
I consider myself to be a pretty good driver, DEs, go carts, and general intestest in motorsports...however, if my 993 is a 10, I am maybe a 4.5 - 5. That being said, if my no hp subaru impreza is a 10, I might be a 12.
We all want a little more power no matter what we have, but is your driving ability more or less than the limits of the car?

To make any serious comparisons is absurd. A '62 300SL made "only" 215 HP. Why would anyone pay $250K+ for such an old, slow car?

An extreme example, but you get my point.

I had a 275hp Supercharged RSX, and the 993 is one of the few cars I drove that was so much better. I never understood through all these years why the magazines always want to compare every new fast car to a Carrera. But now after owning the 993 for a month, I understand completely. Some of the cars winning these battles in the magazines aren't always faster or more HP. Now does an Accord handle better??? Even the most riced out Accord won't get special treatment at the valet compared to a certain 13-year old car that is stock.
