Default Sub Enclosures

I'm about to add subs to my stereo system.

What is the best place to get the sub enclosures that go infront of the rear seats?

I did find the ones from car audio innovations, but wondering if there are others out there.

Thanks,
Jeff

JL Audio just released a thin sub and small digital amp:

Also, Alpine has a nice 6lbs amp:

i got the caraudioinnovation boxes installed last weekend. Also I got 2, 8" Focal Subs and a 3channel Amp. I will post up some pictures tonight. They hit pretty hard and its not noticeable at all.

Would the small JBL fit under the front seat?

i think you roughly have 3" of room under the front seat, my amp can scrape if not set right.

Rod Birch's stuff is great. the design might be slightly dated, in that there are slimmer subwoofers (re: Pioneer slim subwoofers) that would take even LESS space.

another option is http://www.billjehle.com/PORSCHE/index.html
I think Bill was the other owner of Paris Audio with Jamey Rawlings. These boxes go in the passenger footwell.

under the seats is REALLY slim.

I had a JL Audio Micro Sub box in my SC that fit behind the driver. It hit really hard and could be removed easily. I don't think Rod's box is designed to be removed easily, i.e. for track use.

If you have no intention of removing, I think Rod's box is the best from a looks, (factory looking) and from the space it occupies, (who uses the rear seat in a 911 anyway?)

Default Sub Enclosure

I wans't prepared to give up both back seats but there's no occassion where I'd ever need to put two people in the back so we built a custom enclosure for a JL Audio 10" Sub behind the driver's seat. I had a custom enclosure with 2 x 8" subs in my 996 and I just didn't feel as though the 8"'s had enough low end (more like midbass drivers to me anyway).

Needless to say no one who's hear my setup has ever come away saying...not enough bass. Glad I went with the 10.

I love Rhino's custom install:

Mine is behind the passenger seat, but it came from a previous owner that way.

Rod's boxes are just 4 screws. 3 at the bottom and 1 on the seat. so however long that takes to unscrew is how long it takes to get them out. I dont think his boxes are dated at all. It uses part of the seat as the air for the sub. So it can't get much smaller than that. Hopefully once I get off this humongous project at work, I will have some time to post the pictures.

Bought the car with this very high end system and was going to take it out but after a while I started to realize how much effort went into it and just left it in. Plus I don't need the back seats anyway.

Cool

here are the pics. the carpet on the enclosures match the interior very well by my eyes, but somehow the camera shows it doesn't match. very odd. don't mind the wires, i still don't know where i want to run anything yet.

McGarrett, put a porsche decal or emblem on the black center.

I know. It's like they had an idea for something and then left it alone.
