All this brake painting got me thinking...
My big reds are a little tired looking and the clear has chipped off in several places. I have read all the recent threads about the products people use with overal great success; however, I have never "loved" the bright red contrast with my Arena Red body color. Yellow looks better than red but is a little flashy for me. So, my thought was to paint them to match the body; however, the problem I have is my lack of paint knowledge.
Can a painter mix a custom color of high temp paint (what would I ask for)?
What is the difference between high temp and regular paint?
Which is better for this application, paint or epoxy?
Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Adam,
Check with Paintscratch.com - I've ordered Polar Silver in a spray can and it was a damn good match. I used the paint to finish a set of brake ducts.

Not any good ones, but you can see the caliper here. Matches the stock silver wheel paint fairly well.

I've heard the powdercoating process can damage the seals if not done properly and I'm not looking to remove them from the car if I can help it! Have you powdercoated yours?
What about the epoxy vs. high temp paint issue?

Three Wheelin'
Duplicolor has a heat tolerant clear spray can of clear that says good for up to 500F for short periods of time. I used that over their primer and red after applying new decals.
