Default tilting bracket for fixed back seat?

Some time ago someone posted a link for a mounting bracket that allows fixed back seats to tilt forward. I think it was on a race car supply website and was so you could get access to the rear compartment for cleaning, maintenance etc.

Does anyone have the link or remember the thread? I'm looking for options to having to sell my GT3 seats...I really need a way to access the rear area

TIA!

I remember seeing something like that a couple years ago, but, I am not sure where. I thought it was at the OG racing website, but, I looked and I do not see it there now. Maybe it was discontinued.

I would want one if I was going to mount fixed back seats. Keep the drivers side solid mounted and tilt the passenger seat.

David,

I, too, remember it and poked around Rennlist and the web for you but could not find it. Sorry . . .

Thanks Mark, thanks Bob.

Did some more research and both Sparco and OMP have the bracket...runs $120-150. Not FIA approved but that's OK for me as I don't have a race car

THIS PLACE has them on sale for $69.50 each ! Good to know something like these exist, because it really opens up the choice of seats to those of us who need to be able to access the back.

The only thing I would be afraid of using that tilting mechanism is seat rattle. A loose or rattling seat would drive me nuts!!

The only problem as I would see it is the top of the tilted seat hitting the roof liner..

Would that work for Recaro seats? You have to think that standard Porsche mounting point specs apply but you never know...

Also, I would Imagine a fire extinguisher/mount might preclude it from tilting forward.

Could this be added to factory GT3 seats?

Thanks in advance!

Bumping this ancient thread... does anyone have any experience installing the Sparco/OMP tilting seat bracket to a bucket seat so you can get access to the rear seat area?

Thanks

Don't assume tipping an entire seat from its front edge gives anywhere near the access a conventional tip-at-the-waist seat does. For most, it is probably completely useless except for cleaning under the seat. Think about how little access the OE seats give to the back seats in the first place.

I don't really get this comment. Wouldn't these afford more access as the whole seat tilts up and away?? I do agree with V that the seat would quickly hit the headliner, so these tilt brackets really only work in a cab.

I think what is meant here is that the arc/swing a seat mounted in this way is huge, much larger than OE back folding types. So, esp in 911s, the headrest of the seat hits the back of the windshield before the seat gets out of the way enough to be useful.
