Price check 993 cab with bad motor
Can I get some help on the value of this car?
-What is a 1995 cab (c2), 75,000 miles, new top, good interior and seats, some paint chips, needs 2 rear tires, respray on rear bumper worth?
it has very low compression on #5, and will probably need rings, valve work, and clutch, plus reseal
I like the color combo, and have a great mechanic, but don't want to overpay for this car.
whats it worth? as is ?
Thanks in advance

You could get a rough idea of the value of the car by searching ebaymotors for completed auctions of 95 cabs to find what they have been selling for, then subtract the total cost of repairs. It could cost a large fraction of the total value of this car, especially if your mechanic finds more work that needs to be done once he gets it torn down. These engines are not inexpensive to rebuild, and a used engine from a dismantler runs close to $10K.
