Question Oil Leaking more than before!

Especially after some long trips. Just told that seal around ? gear chain is leaking. Need to drop engine to get to it!

How long of a job s this and should I do any other Mods. while the engine is down?

Any recommended Porsche Mechanics (non-Stealer) in Chicagoland?

TIA!

Check condition of clutch and pressure plate and R/R if necessary. Change plugs and wires if it's getting close to that time. Check power steering belt. SAI flush and change out the SAI valve. Those are just the ones I thought of on the run- there may be a couple more I missed.

Frank,
You actually don't have to drop the engine to replace the chain cover gaskets. You just need to lower enough to remove all the stuff in the way. Still a bit of work but is is possible.

I just had my timing chain cover gaskets replaced. No need to drop the engine. Find another mechanic that doesn't want to rip you off. It's about a 4-6 hour job as you have to remove the Cat, A/C compressor, A/C mounting bracket, and rear engine tin to get to it.
