Jaime answered all the question 100% correct.
While we are at it, some questions for you Jaime.
I bought this bike from a co-worker who didn't want to mess with the repair, the problem is that the bike will not start when it is cold. PO says if you crank it long enough it will eventually start and run and will start as long as it is hot. Dealer first thought it was ignition issue, but later found to be a valve issue. The diagnostic from the dealer was the rear cylinder have a 28% leak on the instake side, the valve adjustment screw is already maxed out.
I have been reading the service manual to get an idea what's involved for the repair, my guess is a bent or a broken valve? Have you heard of similiar issues with these bikes?

Robin, most japanese motorcycles are bullet proof. I have owned many and have never had any issues.
Maybe he downshifted and bent a valve. A lot of the bikes are wrecked and used motors are pretty cheap. That might be the easiest way to fix it.
