Default Anyone have some extra black Surflex laying around?

I want to dye a couple of things in my interior, but don't need a large amount. Thought to ask here before ordering said large amount. Cheers.

Did you ever find any? I need just enough to do an ebrake handle. Unless anyone has a new black ALU lever they want to trade for a new grey one.

Cheers.

No, but after doing so research decided to use a spray-on product called SEM Color Coat. Haven't even done it yet, as I've been too busy.

Thanks for the offer Chris, but I'm going to try out the SEM product first...if it doesn't do the job, I'll let you know.

The SEM is a great product but give it time to "cure". 24-48 hrs. or more if you can do w/o the car that long. The other recommendation is LEATHERIQUE dye. This is a water-based product made by the same folks who make REJUVINATOR Oil for treating leather. They're in SC. I've been a proponent of their products for 25yrs. or more. If the SEM doesn't stay on, e-mail me and I'll be glad to send you enough black dye to easily do the brake handle. I've touched up seats b4 and it doesn't come off.

Noah,

Please let the board know how the SEM worked out.

Thanks!

Trackrat -- thanks for the tip.

Mark -- I'm dying the center tunnel console thingy from light grey to black, because I got tired of how ugly and dirty a light grey shifter and e-brake look. I got a black e-brake handle off a buddy's wrecked 964 and a 996 2002 shift **** from ebay. At some point when I have five minutes to spare I'm going to dye the console and put everything back together...pics to follow!

The SEM will work on the console. Just remember what I said about giving it plenty of time to cure. My friend and I use the semi-flat SEM to do Shelby & Mustang engine bays so it should do well for your application. Leatherique or Surflex dye will be much better on leather.
