Default DIY Daytime running lights

Has anyone any information on how I can do this myself. I live 500 Km from the closest dealer and I don't trust the local shops as they have no p-car experience.

I did a search and did not find anything on DIY only that others have had it done.

Thanks

If you search for : daytime running lights, you should get 15 threads

If you have a US car you will have to add wiring and a relay as the US cars do not have wiring to the dlr relay position.

Much appreciated.

Maybe the last post in this thread ? : https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...running+lights

And disregard my posts in that thread. The US cars are not prewired

I don't know them personally, but i do spend quite a lot of money at their shop
Espen, who works there is probably one of the most knowledgeable Porsche guys in Norway.

They know a lot about the "older" cars (which the stealer completely neglects) and the service they provide is first class !!!

(no affiliation)

Have you had your RUF at their place ?

My DRL's are achieved with an extra (standard 4 pin) relay to fire the driving lights - not the headlight low beams. I have not bothered to trace the circuit, as it was previously done . If interested, I could take a look inside the CE box.

No never serviced my car, but I met Espen a few years ago in Essen Germany and I consider him a friend.
We have identical Ruf CTR-2's

Say hello from Levino next time you are in the shop.

Garth: if you post a picture or two of the wiring that would be great.

since you are in Canada,eh ,get a daytime running lite kit from any auto suppy store, wire it in according to directions and locate the relay behind the R headlight. Run the wire to your fusebox for Power. or come and see mine in Stoffville. Andy

All done with a blade 15A inline fuse.
Once I knew what I was going to do it took about 30 min. including travel to store and $6.00 in parts.

Looks good: #3 to #5 is pin 30 (+12v) to 87 (load) of relay #31 .... which is the fog lights for your DRL's ..... or am I reading it incorrectly?
I'll check out my CE tomorrow AM to see how it was done. Your solution looks more elegant .

Thank you and you are correct it is a fused jumper from 30 to 87 and it is the fog lights.

This set up uses the fog lights as does my Cab which is a Canadian factory car with relay.
