Since I am still new to the car and this forum, I thought I would ask for opinions on which mods I should start with? I've been doing some maintenance on the car, which was needed, as well as changing out valve covers and gasket with Eagle Day aluminum ones. Very happy with them!
I thought about suspension, as the car seems way to high for me, but am not sure if I would be happier with H&R, Eibach or Bilstein?
what else? open to opinions/thoughts.....

I would start w/ suspension, first be sure all the rubber bushes that will stay are up to snuff, then for a street car fully threaded Bilstein shocks w/ M030 springs, either M030 sways or RS sways. Align 7 corner balance to finish that project

Lots of choices but after the suspension upgrades as Bill suggests my favorite mods have been the LWF and the factory RS shifter parts. Easy one (relatively cheap too) are the RS motor mounts.
ECU chip change should be considered after you do the LWF so that the idle RPM can be increased to about 900 rpm and other tweaks to help fight off the well known tendency of MY95s to stall with the LWF. Lots of posts on that topic if you are interested.....

+1 This is the best bang for the buck in mods. IMHO

If you drive at night, HID mod is a must. Get some with slim ballasts and the fit right into the headlight housing. I'd also suggest the keyless entry mod. $30 and you can get a remote to lock and unlock your 993.

so where is the best place to purchase the Bilstein's? Are they better than the Koni's? What about the M030 springs? Anyone used Eibach? Am I going to be happy with this setup, meaning - ride height (or will I want lower)?
As for sways, which are better - M030 or RS?
lastly, what's the benefit of the RS Motor Mounts?

Im going suggest doing a few BMWCCA or a PCA DE event before you do anything (Provided you havent already done some). After that, I would have to do the suspension first (if the SUV height drives you crazy like it does some of us) with what Bill mentioned earlier. After that there are an endless list of choices (see my sig) depending on your budget. The HID upgrade is the best $100 I ever spent on my car as is the 3 spoke steering wheel. After that I would suggest the LPPM by Fister D. That has to be the next best bang for the buck. After that, you are in a freefall.........

LPMM was a great first mod for me! I have the 3 spoke already and love that as well. I am looking towards PSS10's next; however, I agree with some others that you should get a chance to feel the car at it's limit with stock the suspension (or at least get to know what the car feels like riding on just the springs
) setup.
