Question Extending the range of the remote

I noticed a DIY in the 996 section which shows you how you can extend the range of your remote (TSB 9662). Is there a DIY showing how to extend the range on a 993? I'd like to do this modification on my 993 since I have to be right next to the car for it to work.

Thanks

Not that I have found. I did the 996 DIY and it really helped. I have searched for a 993 DIY - so if you find one let me know.

When to say you did the 996 DIY, did you do it on a 996 or 993?

So if I understand correctly, Alpine manufactured the remote that unlocks the car, do you know who manufactured the remotes for the 996?

Thanks

I did the 996 remote DIY on a 996. Not the same system on the 993.

I had an Alpine alarm system in a previous car, it had amazing range, like 100 feet.

Hold it to your chin and your body acts like an antenna. It will extend the range. Mine doesn't really have any range. Try it on a car with a decent remote. Find the limit of the range, place remote on chin and it will work.
