1. Have all the fuses (front & rear) been checked?
2. Have all the connectors been checked and cleaned, e.g. blower amplifier?
3. Have all the servo actuators been monitored for their functionality?
4. Does the CCU get the "X" power from the ignition switch?
5. What mods have been made to the wiring?
6. Have the voltages (#30 & #15) been checked with a voltmeter?
7. Has the CCU been FULLY tested in another vehicle?
8. Have all the sensors been tested and connections checked?

And if the CCU was properly scanned for faults and no diagnostic results
provided a direction/resolution to the problem, then the CCU is bad.

I had the same problem. I could actually get the fan to work by applying inward pressure on the ****. Thinking it was just a contact challenge, I purchased a can of electronic compressed air in an attempt to "blow-out" any dust interferring with the contact.

That didn't work.

Another Rennlister (forget who) suggested using an electronic cleaner-lubricant...I got a can at Radio Shack...Voila!!! CONTACT! Been fine the entire summer.

This is any easy fix, if it works for you...good luck.

The material is a Radio Shack product..."Control/Contact...Cleaner and Lubricant" 4.5 oz spray can...."for electro-mechanical devices".

UPC...40293 16321... item # looks like 64-4315.

Forgot to answer your question...

Removed the fan **** and the first nut and sprayed the crap out of the whole area while turning the ***** to full stops. The material obviously wprked it's way into the necessary contact area.

Guys, just something to keep in mind: the problem I wrote about in this post was 100 percent related to the removal of the rear blower motor in favor of an RS bypass tube. The behavior I described is not related to any defect or problem in the CCU, only the effects of removing one component in the system the CCU controls.

Did anyone ever come up with "The Fix" for this issue? If utilizing the jumpers, can someone post a picture of exactly what it looks like when complete?
