Yes leather, about half the price of originals! I'll post some pics of them mounted in a 996 turbo

Here you go! They list at $1800 for the pair, but I know he'll do better, maybe we can do a group buy?

I really like them but as I said, Im worried about the crash worthiness of them. Since my car does its share of track work it does concern me. Not to mention I do a great deal of business in China and all over southeast asia and although they make some good stuff, I have to question it when my life is on the line. I have been heavily involved in racing since the early 90's and have seen my share of crashes and the damage that has happened. I would probably shy away from them unless Im missing something in their quality. I do want to say that I have never seen them in person nor have I heard anything bad. They do look really nice though!

+1. If you get rear-ended, would the seats be able to take the force of the impact and not cause significant injury? How strong is the fiberglass? Has it ever been crash-tested by an appropraite sanctioning body such as the FIA or TUV? Additionally, in the first photo, it looks like the harness openings are not symmetrical in the horizontal placement. If this is true, I think that speaks volumes for the lack of quality.

In answer to your question, no, without proper certification, I would never consider them for any car I own.

There are also other nice high quality seats out there if you look a bit. Plus, even if the CF seat backs are strong enough what about the bracketry that the pivots and things bolt it. These may be best for high bling factor show kinda cars.

Try the Recaro pole position in leather. I had them on my 993 and they fit and look great.

For myself and girlfriend, they were more comfortable then the stock units. I drove from near detroit to Indy for the F1 race last year with them. They do take a little practice to get in and out of them at first. Once you are in them, they are great. They also look much better in 993 then the GT3 seats, IMO.
The GT3 belong in a 996.
