car seat for a 2 year old
Looking for a car seat for a 2 year, I looked at the old threads but the car seat (britax star riser) suggested seems to be discontinued. Any one else have any suggestions from the link below

I have a set of fisher price ones that I ordered that work good with a little bit of cutting on the bottom. Im not sure that a 2 y/o is big enough. I had my 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 in them without any issues but my 2 1/2 y/o is on the bigger size. I will try to find a link to the seats.

I do have a porsche baby safe seat by britax that Im not using. It says up to 20 lbs and a height of 26" so it is probably too small. Plus I think it is only for the front.

A 2 y.o., unless he's huge, should be in a convertible seat with 5-pt harness.
My son is almost 3, 38" x 33lbs, and he's at the limits of my cheapo Cosco Highback Booster that's wedged into the back using latch hardware. It's no Recaro, but it fit the best of any. He'll be in a seatbelt booster in six months, though.
Someone else recently posted about fitting a Britax Roundabout in a 993. We had a Roundabout already, and when I tried it is seemed way to high and forward. Maybe OK for while if your kid is small and stays that way.

Hear me now, or hear me later... Britax Roundabout is the way to go. My wife is very particular about how car seats fit and it passed her tests. It does sit high, but not sure why/how that matters vs. secure fit. The base fits perfectly on the seat and we were able to get it very secure/tight, almost no movement. I think that it is rated to about 35lbs or so...my son is 3 yrs old.

My son outgrew the Roundabout last fall. For toddlers with long torsos, the height of the highest shoulder strap holes is a big issue, and the Roundabouts are quite low. Loved the seat otherwise.
In other cars we're using the Recaro Young Sport and a Graco Ultra CarGo. No chance of getting those in the 993 though.
There are many seatbelt booster seats that provide deeper side and head protection than the Porsche/Britax Starriser/Fisher Price. Figuring out which ones fit in a 993 will be the next challenge.
These look promising. I'm sure I've seen a Parkway in a Porsche. And Combi Kobuk looks very cool (I mean safe).

Recaro Young Sport is my favorite car seat of all...had it in my RS4 and it was perfect...but no chance for Porsche fitament as John said...I still have mine for other cars

Another vote on the Britax roundabout. I'm using some Brey-Krause outer belt hooks for the latch attachments as well as the lap belt and I've been happy with how securely it fits.

I have 2 of the Recaro young sports in my X5 and 2 of the new Recaro Vivo booster in the subaru. The young sports are by FAR the best seat out there. Neither of these in any way shape or forn will fin in the back if a 993 though!!!!
