Default New Member 97' Turbo S Wants help

New addition to my stable. It's been a while since I've had a 993 but my new one sure seems to be quicker than the last.

Under 4k miles and I haven't decided if I'm going to drive it hard or a little. I tend to put lots of miles on my cars.

What do the Rennlist guys think I should do?

That thing is such a baby! I don't know, looks like you've got another beast in the 4th photo that can keep you busy as well.

Great car, enjoy it in good health.

D - R - I - V - E I - T - ! - ! - !

A lot. It was built for that purpose...not to decorate your garage.

Depends on the amount of cars in your stable... If you are looking to keeping the value of that car high, then make it a garage queen. On the other hand, if you do not care about taking the $ hit, then drive it like it was meant to be driven.

If your stable is big enough then it really does not matter as you enjoy the car and can split the miles over several cars... that would be nice... never drive a dull car again, and keep the miles low since you have a few to choose from.

Drive it! It's "just" a car. You can always make more money to make up for the depreciation but driving that beast is something money cant buy. Well, actually money can buy it but you know what I mean. Enjoy it in great health, keep the rubber side down.

I am always amazed at how owners of this fine marque can have something like this and not use them. I just got in two 97 turbo s cars from the same owner that bought them new and still on the original MSOs. One has 74 miles on it, the other has 178 miles on the odo. I have a feeling when I market them in the next few weeks, they will be going back to Germany, do you guys think they stand a chance of staying in the U.S. with our economy and the strength of the euro?

I say drive it and enjoy it. These cars were meant to be driven AND admired. The more you drive it the more YOU will enjoy it and the more the general population will get to see the last "true" Porsche.
Arghhh, I do wish though that I had that dilemma.

I'm the first guy to tell all my friends "drive them hard" but I haven't decided on this one yet. I've got a 07 GT3 RS I've put 6k miles on in 7 months. A 93' RS America I used to track before I raced my 997 GT3 Cup so I get the miles. My 2 -F430's will each see 4k miles a year minimum so I tend to get out on the road. These 993's just seem to be all over the place with no miles and I almost would have a guilt feel.

The car is fricken cool. I like it better ten fold than any of the 5 -996's I had previously owned.
