Default Another convertible top question

After successfully repairing the transmission cables on my roof, I want to understand another issue with the roof better and maybe fix it:

There was a lot of talk about punching holes in the top at the location of the locking pin. There must be one part of the frame that is supposed to pull back the fabric out of that "puncture zone". It appears that this frame is pulled back by rubber bands. It looks like that they are ripped off at the frame (both sides). Does someone of you have a picture(s) how it should look (work) when everything is in working order? Did someone of you try a repair?

Thanks,
Erik
