Smile Happy surprise in big box

Just got my motorsound mufflers from a nice fellow in TX. Pulled them out of the box and shook off the foam peanuts and was getting ready to reseal the box and throw it and the cloud of peanuts away when I heard a clunk.

Reach down in the box and felt around and come up with... a set of TechArt tips. One has a bit of grounding, but should straighten out fine.

Some people are so thoughtful!

Not sure. Steve Patti? Imports Euro racing cars. Apparently the muffs came from a Euro RS, but the part numbers are normal for Gillet Motorsound.

Doesn't ring a bell. Nice gesture.

Steve is a fellow Porsche club racer, met him once in 2003 at TWS on my first race. Nice guy. He promptly smoked me in his Yellow original 964RS. He did have an import business bringing RS type of cars in Dallas but his site says that he has suspended the operations due to the dollar being down the toilet compared to the Euro... If he says they are from an RS, i bet they are.

Upon closer inspection, it seems they've been RSRed.

Just put them on and went for an evening drive. What a sound! Really rips up through the gears, but only a very gentle burble idling. Tone is a bit deeper cruising, but I think I can live with it.
