Possibly I could hear the RSR mufflers at the *Caffeine and Octane* outing?
I'll be there... But I have Super Cups.

Hey Dave ~ your super cup equipped 993 sounds "schweet" as they say! We first took notice when you downshifted for the traffic light on Roswell Road then watching (and heard) the 993 as you trolled through events parking lot this morning. The raised sound pressure level reminded me of a ’75 Z1 900cc I once owned – it had a 4-1 Yoshimura header straight pipe exhaust which could be heard across the county!

The exhaust note of my 993 is so freakin tame! Maybe the time honored practice of gutting the Cats would help matters. The additional gain (audibly speaking) might be just enough to satisfy the need of a sportier exhaust note. What would I stand to lose by gutting the Cats? This would be cheaper than buying the Cat-by-pass pipes for $750. (Our cars are registered in a State/County where there is no vehicle inspection)

I didn't attend this month. What cool things did you see/hear this time?

Thanks Mike,

You should've introduced yourself.
Yes, if you gut you cats you run the risk of not passing GA emissions which could be more costly. The RSR and/or Super Cups are Emission approved thus far. The turn out was good and my son had a great time riding in "Daddy's Race Car" for the first time, with the new car seat I put in.

It was Sunday Sept. 7, 2008.

I had a great time. I parked across from that red 911S and the green 356 (both #1 cars). That is a picture of my engine (pic #1).

After talking with the Porsche guys for a half-hour, we walked the lot. That 1938 Mercedes 540K Special roadster in his pictures was a very nice replica of a $3M car. There were many interesting cars in attendance (one guy some how brought three cars).

I meet some very nice car people and didn't leave for home until 11:30 am (I arrived a little after 8:00am). I plan to go to next month's show.

Oops, I put the wrong date in my previous post. I corrected it to Sept 7. Yes, the event is now happening on the first Sunday of each month.

Sorry to bring this OLD Thread back... But I haven't been to the caffeine and Octane car show in a while.. Does anyone know what they are doing for April? Since they have moved it to the first Sunday of the month and this Sunday is obviously Easter, are they moving it to the second Sunday? Or perhaps Saturday (Tomorrow)??

Dave,

The Georgia Tech Auto show is tomorrow. The guy that runs it lives a couple of houses up from me in my neighborhood (Sterling Skinner).

My car is in FL and I am riding trails in the mountains tomorrow.

Sounds awesome, it would be great to meet some of you guys in person...I lurk on RL more than I would admit but shaking hands with other 993 guys is always a treat!

Cheers,

May do that... The colors of the GT3 may be popular at a GA Tech Show

This Yellow Jacket will be infiltrating Bulldog territory tonight for the REM 30th anniversary show. If I'm awake/sober/not incarcerated by 11 am tomorrow, I'll drop by and see you guys.

Guys, the "official show" has been postponed until next week. I plan to show up this Sunday since there is a Porsche deal in north Georgia next weekend.

Ed,
How did you get tickets for the R.E.M show? Do you have an extra one?

I am an UGA grad. I received my MBA when R.E.M. was just a house band in Athens. I am on Murmurs.com and was on the previous site. My Murmurs sig is "REM fan since 1982".
