Cracked oil filler extension tube.
How easy is it to replace a cracked oil filler extension tube?
Does it even need to be replaced, or can I use a long-necked funnel instead?

It just pops out. My first one was cracked in various places, leading to leaks during an oil fill. I kept the replacement one for a few months before giving it to another Rennlister.
A stout funnel with an end that fits snuggly into the neck is best. Since most funnels are plastic, you can easily cut one to suit.

I replaced mine with ---- nothing. The falling-apart one went in the trash. Use a funnel. The only place it would be handy is if you do a lot of highway driving and must top off your oil level on-the-road frequently.

I still have the extension in the neck in case I need it somewhere on the road but for oil changes at home I pull it out and use a Redline (?) curved neck funnel. I reinstall the extension after filling.
