Caliper Re-build

Three Wheelin'
I am in the middle of rebuilding mine, and I agree with the grease suggestion. I used the stuff that comes in the packets with the new piston and seals. Goes right in by hand, felt right.

Burning Brakes
I have probably rebuilt 50 calipers the last few years, a lot of which were 993's.
I've had very good luck with the Stoptech / Zeckhausen seal and boot kits. I have never seena a bad piston so I wouldn't worry about that.
The key is to get all four pistons close to being out before you break the pressure seal. I use a wood block and shims to work them out and sometimes push them back and forth a few times to get good movement so they will pop out easily. Wear safety glasses and make sure your fingers are away when you fire the air compressor.
I can do one in 20 minutes if all goes well, but lots of times the blee screw is damaged or stripped o one piston is stuck etc. Definitely use brake rebuild lube liberally. Half day and $200 in parts and you'll be good for a long time.
